Personal Bio of Tim Finn
(April 2005)

Tim is 51years old and was born in Presque Isle, Maine on August 22, 1953. He graduated high school from Hanover Township Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre, PA in 1971. He graduated Penn State University Class of 1975 with a B.A. in Liberal Arts. He graduated Western New England College School of Law 1979 with a J.D. (Juris Doctor). He passed the Pennsylvania Bar October 1979. He was a judge’s Law Clerk for the Hon. James E. Rowley, Court of Common Pleas of Beaver County from September 1979 to October 1980. He has maintained his private law practice based in Beaver County from October 1980 to the present.

Tim is married to the former Ina Durbin of Center Township, Beaver County since August 6, 1976. Ina is a Home Economics teacher (now called Family & Consumer Services) who taught two years in the New Brighton (PA) Area School District, three years with the Agawam (MA) School District while Tim was in law school and has taught at Ambridge (PA) Area School District since 1979. She is currently teaching at the Ambridge Area Junior High School.

Having “grown up in a suitcase” and being raised on US Air Force bases in Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina Florida and Mississippi, Tim has called Beaver County his home since 1976. He proudly resides with his wife and sons in Vanport since 1980. Son Ian, 24, is a graduate student at the California University of Pennsylvania in its MBA program. Son Neil, 20, is ending his sophomore year at Penn State University main campus with a major in Turf Management Science. And son Brenden, 15, is a freshman at Beaver Area High School.

Tim’s mother, Eleanor, was from Wilkes-Barre, PA, who served in the United States Navy during World War II. As a Navy Wave, she met her husband, Tom (also in the Navy at the time), and they were married in Key West, Florida during the war. She was a homemaker thereafter and raised six children, four boys and two girls. Tim is her fifth child, fourth son. Eleanor died in 1974 during Tim’s junior year at Penn State.

Tim’s father, Tom, was from Boston, MA, and was a career military serviceman with the United States Navy and the United States Air Force. He retired from the USAF as a Senior Master Sergeant with 28 years of military service. He was a veteran of World War II and served two tours of duty in the Vietnam conflict. He died in 1975 during Tim’s senior year at Penn State.

After the passing of Tim’s parents, he was blessed to marry Ina and became another “son” to her loving parents, John and Martha Durbin, of Christy Drive, Center Township. John and Martha also have now passed; but, their love, help and spiritual guidance over many years will always be treasured in memory.
